Heee heee heee!!!!
Dude! Karla is in the home stretch! She only has a month and a half left to go! Chances are, it could be even less than that, since she's so little and everything! I can't wait! She had a shower this weekend, which you can read about on her blog if you like, and she got the fat hook-ups! I can hardly wait to see this beautiful baby girl! It also makes me a little more excited about my upcoming showers and baby! I've only got three months left! Oh, what a wonderful time we are in! At church, I believe that there are about 11 women pregnant or who just had babies right now. I think that's what they said...11 or 13, something like that. Wow! Last week a girl in my Sunday school class, whom I was just getting to know, had her twins. They weren't due till April, but they decided they didn't feel like waiting. She gets to bring them home in two weeks! Oh for joy! They were asked if the church could do anything for them, and they mentioned that sometimes after a baby is born, family and friends will drop off dinners and pre-cooked food for the family so they don't have to worry about that while trying to get situated with their new baby. I remember now that Trey's family and a family from their church did that for us. It was a wonderful idea. Lord knows I'm not one for cooking period, so to have actual cooked food was nice. I will say that I could have done w/o the whole family actually hanging out the first day he was home, but at least I didn't have to worry about finding something to eat on that most stressful first day! I think it's a totally novel idea. Kinda makes me wish I had more family and friends around here to tell about this wonderful idea! Wonder if my friends from Chas. will drive all the way up here to drop off food, then go away? But really...if you know someone who's pregnant, it is a nice thought to keep in mind for after the baby is born. I know I plan to send food to new mommy with twins. One other thing, it must be something easily eaten, but I'm sure you already guessed that!

While I'm on the topic of baby, she moved! Yes, yes, I know she's been moving, but this is a significant move. Today I went to see Trey at work to eat with him on his break. Afterwards he walked me out to the car (such a gentleman!). While we were talking, my stomach suddenly felt much bigger and very full and tight in the front. It has seemed smaller the last few days, and even others have pointed it out. It seems that little Taryn has decided to reposition herself OFF of my pelvis and all those wonderful nerves, and back to her nice spot in the front! Immediately, with the exception of the little bit of soreness left over from last week, the pain I've been feeling went away! I showed Trey how I could suddenly walk w/o a limp again, and even danced in the parking lot for a minute! How wonderful! I realize that she may well want to go back there again, but perhaps if I offer her candy, she'll want to stay up front?....

Well, I guess that's all for me today. No real school news to talk about. It was actually the most normal day I've had in I don't know how long! I hope your day was equally as normal, or better, and that tomorrow is super! I'll see you soon!

It's so exciting to have the baby move inside you! I think that's the only thing I miss about pregnancy - it is such a truly freaky yet cool experience to be able to see a foot sliding along under your skin.

Thanks for visiting my blog - and wow, thanks for linking me!

    I'll be back!

The baby moving has been my favourite part about the pregnancy too. I know every once in a while baby Ava moves or kicks in a way that makes her mother cringe.

The food thing is an awesome idea. We're stocking up on pre-prepared meals or things that don't take much prep or skill to cook (since I'll be doing the cooking for the first week) then Karla's mom is coming down to visit and she's going to be taking care of a lot of meals and then freezing them. Lots of homemade lasagne and all that good stuff!

i am glad the child got off your sciatic nerve.... lol.
yeah, we had "meals for moms" at my church for a long time-we ran it through the moms group, BUT the coordinator quit so it has kind of gone by the wayside. we do make meals for people in our small groups, sunday school, moms group still, just not for everyone in the church (we hope the groups they are involved with take care of them). I am SURE your church will hook you up, as will WE!
I bought taryn TWO presents today!! i am dying- i dont want to wait for the shower.... :)

I would SO be ok if it was less than a month and a half! People are work are telling me my belly has "dropped". So I checked online to see what "lightening" was all about and it said that it usually means labour is 2 - 4 weeks around the corner for first time moms. Do you remember when your belly dropped? How much longer was it after that before you went into labour? Its nice to be able to breathe and eat again, but holy crap, it hurts "down there" when I bend over from all the pressure.

I think that food idea is a awsome, but I dont know if i would want so many people visiting me like the day I bring the baby home...I'll probably just want to be with Mark and the baby at that point.

The idea of helping out with prepared food for someone with a new baby is awsome tho! I'm sure very much appreciated by everyone with a newborn too! Mark and I don't have any family where we live, so we're pretty much on our own. It'll be tough. Our friends don't live close either (for the most part).

That's pretty amazing that Taryn's movement totally relieved you of that pain! WOW! So can you tell if she is head up or head down at all?

Karla, I don't know if she's head up or down now, but at the ultrasound, she was head down, or so they said. I'm not really concerned with that now, as long as she's there and moving (especially off my sciatic nerves!)! I seem to remember dropping, or so people thought, about a month or two before TJ was born. People were saying it long before it actually happened, though. For instance, they are saying it now about me! I know that Ava is already getting into position to come out, and she's probably turned over and all that good stuff. You'll know for sure when she "drops" though, b/c suddenly all your weight will shift downward, unless that's already happened. If so, we're now on a countdown...EEEEEKKKKKK!!!

I agree that I don't really want anyone there when the baby comes home, but I already know I won't have a choice. I love both of my families, but I already know that one of them will be right there waiting for me when I get home. Mainly b/c Trey's mom will more than likely come to watch TJ while I'm having the baby, and stay until we come home. That in itself kinda sucks b/c I can't set up the kids' room until after she is born b/c I have to keep the spare bed till then. After she gets here, we are getting rid of it and putting in a crib!

Gina, I agree...I can't wait, either. Let's move it up. What are you doing this weekend? :)

Oh, and I totally forgot what great cooks you guys are! Hmmmm....yes, yes, that could work wonderfully...yes, yes....

I'm glad you're feeling better. Let's hope she doesn't get back in that spot.

I never knew when mine dropped. People were always saying I looked like I dropped, but I never knew what they were talking about.

Tell me what food delivery places you like in your area so I can get you a gift certificate for after the baby is born. Just in case you get tired of homemade cookin!
