Gee, where have you been?
Might be something someone might ask were they the type to read my blog. Since I don't know of anyone like that, then I'm sure that question has not crossed anyone's mind lately.

Ha ha! No, no, no...I know there are still a few of you out there, and I more than appreciate your reading and seeing what's going on in my life!

So anyway, this has been a BUSY past couple of weeks! The kids came back from Nana's last Wednesday, and it took about three or four days to get them back in the swing of things. TJ seemed to think that telling me "No," whenever I told him to do something was okay. I had to readjust his way of thinking. Taryn threw some fits for no reason as well (ie-she wanted her headphones, and I was going to the bathroom...she cried herself to sleep freaking out that I wouldn't get off of the toilet to get them!) They are for the most part back to themselves now.

I bought Trey a motorcycle. Yep, yep. We've wanted motorcycles for a while, and my goal is to have this one once we can afford a new one for him one day. However, as much as I'd like to say this was just for fun riding, it's not. The gas is so high now that I got it for him to drive back and forth to work, and I'm now driving his car to do my paper route. It's not fun driving a stick shift to throw papers, but the Honda gets almost triple the mileage that my van does, so I'm just sucking it up. Trey hasn't started actually riding it to work yet, b/c he doesn't feel totally confident riding it in traffic and on the interstate. Of course, he's on a search for the perfect helmet now, and we're in a disagreement about it. I told him that under no circumstances would I agree to anything but a full helmet, but he wants a skull cap so he can look cool. Who knows, the motorcycle may become mine after all!

We have spent TONS of time outside, playing in the pool and the sprinkler, and going on field trips with the moms group I recently joined. I really enjoy doing stuff with them! They are all so nice, and the kids love their kids. Yesterday they learned about the moon, and today they learned about local marsh and sea creatures. Very, very cool.

Oh, and did I mention that DAVID COOK WON AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy! I had to DVR it, and I didn't get to watch it until late Wed. night. Needless to say, I'm sorry to my family for screaming out at the top of my lungs at midnight, while they tried to sleep!

I'm sure there's more, but really, do you have the time for all that? I'll try to get on soon and maybe I'll have something of interest on here. Here, let me take you out with some pics of my gorgeous babies, b/c that's what I certainly love to see!

Knock down, drag out Mother's Day!
Julia got breakfast in bed. My mom got dinner out on Saturday night. My mom took dinner to Grandma. Nana got dinner, and a weekend with her three grandbabies from me. I got to work 11 hours at Trey's restaurant!

Yep, that's right, I worked. Last year, Trey asked if I wanted to come in and help out on Mother's Day. So, I shipped the kids off to Nana's house, and in I went. This year, I was asked if I was coming again, and I said, "ABSOLUTELY!" Do you think I'm crazy? So do I. It was fun, though. If you don't have to go into work and kill yourself everyday in a restaurant, it's not so bad. It's also the busiest day of the year there, and after not having worked there in over seven years, it feels pretty good to still be not only good at my former job, but much better than a lot of people who are doing it everyday now. Plus, I got lots and lots of "Happy Mother's Day"'s from people working there, so that was pretty neat. Don't get me wrong, I could have crawled into a hole and spent a week there once it was all over with. I was so sore and TIRED, but it was fun, and I can't wait to get to do it again next year!

Guess who didn't tell me "Happy Mother's Day"? My brother. Get this: He calls me as we're driving out of the parking lot from work (around 10:45 pm). I smile, thinking he's called to tell me "HMD", and pick up the phone. Apparently, he wants to do something nice for his girlfriend, and since he himself has just gotten off of work, he wants to do it then. He hints to me (ie-asks w/o coming right out with it) no less than three times that he needs someone to watch her son. "Uhhhh, oh, so you don't have your kids, huh? I don't guess you'd want to have Cyrus over to sleep on your couch then, huh?" Uhhh, NO! Something about not having my own kids to watch, and having just worked a LONG shift, which I'm not accustomed to, AND being asked to babysit at 11 o'clock at night...What a DICK! Yeah, and he didn't even bother to bust out a "HMD". Screw him, he will NOT be getting a "Happy Father's Day" call from me.

We did celebrate Mother's Day, though. Last night we went out bowling with my mom and Bo. It was a lot of fun. Bo had never bowled before last night, and he did really well considering. I think the games he lost, he was only behind by a few pins. Not to brag on myself...oh, who am I kidding, this is MY blog!...but I was the one to beat. Well, at least on the second game! I made a 141! Whoo hoo, go me! I was very proud, and have told everyone about it over and over again today. Yeah, it doesn't take much! I had been thinking we'd go see a movie or something, but I'm really glad we did that instead. I had a lot of fun, and so did everyone else.

Anyway, gotta go to bed now. Have a great day, and I'll see you later!

I cut my baby's hair!

Cole needed a haircut. That I was sure of. I waited until Trey was home b/c I thought for sure he would freak out like he did the last two times he had his hair cut. Strangely enough, he didn't this time. As long as Trey was touching him, he was fine. He did a thousand times better than TJ, who almost ALWAYS freaks out like I'm going to cut his head off! Anyway, I used the second highest guard on the clippers, thinking that they would leave a decent amount of hair on the top of his head. I was wrong. It's so short now! My baby looks like a big boy now! I think he likes it, though. His hair was getting shaggy, and in his eyes, and I think it was getting hot for him. I know he's going to love it short now. Oh, but he looks so much older now...a LOT like Trey, even more so than before! As much as I love short hair like his, I kinda liked his a little longer, at least in the front. I think I'll work on growing out the top some and keep it longer next time. Till then, though, my baby is now one of the guys!

How do people sleep at night?
I am just in shock over this. Have you heard about the man who locked his daughter in a basement 24 years ago and impregnated her with seven children? It's horrifying!

Go here

It really makes me want to cry.

Huh...
Hey, did you know it's Friday already? And it's May? WOW! When did that happen? I'm not even sure what's gone on this week, but I do feel like I was pretty busy.

TJ went to the doctor the other day, and got a glowing record (as I expected, of course!). I did ask the doctor about him walking on his tippy-toes, and he said just to keep trying to get him to stop, and if it continues, we'll worry about it on his next checkup when he's six. I think he wasn't worried b/c TJ can walk on his feet the right way, he just chooses not to, b/c it's habit. I am constantly on him about walking correctly, and you'll commonly hear me say, "TJ, FEET!" I thought it was rather amusing today when we went to a playdate and Andrew (Julia's son), was getting on TJ to walk the right way. It really struck me when he started in on Taryn later. I tend to forget that she does it, too. I think she does it b/c she sees TJ doing it, b/c she doesn't do it often, but just every once in a while. At least he saved me from having to be the nagger, right!?

TJ informed my stepdad, Bo, the other day that he does not like Math and Reading. Huh, who knew? It could be that I can't get him to sit still for three seconds while trying to do his lessons. However, yesterday, after they finished their work, they got to paint pictures. TJ did a stellar job on his work. When he finished, he told me that he did so well b/c he was going to get to paint afterward, and that if I want him to always do well, just tell him he gets to paint when he's done, "even if I really don't get to, Mommy." Uhhh, yeah, please, tell me how to manipulate and lie to you, TJ. I appreciate the help.

Oh, I know what I did this week. I did Taryn's hair. She seems to be very interested in that now, and I'm kinda torn on growing it out. I think she looks mega-cute with it shorter, and I think she might look strange with it longer. Julia said it would be pretty longer, but I just can't picture it. Trey wants it long, so perhaps we'll just have to let it do its thing and find out.
